The City of Tucson is requesting bids from qualified firms to establish an annual requirements contract for the purchase of Heavy Duty Truck Utility Service Bodies, as per specifications, to be delivered F.O.B. Destination to the City of Tucson, EGSD/Fleet Services, 4004 South Park Avenue, Building No. 2, Tucson, AZ 85714. The City will purchase chassis under a separate contract and it will be the body contractor’s responsibility to provide all aspects to install the body to the chassis, per the Scope of Work. The City reserves the right to purchase various types and sizes of Heavy Duty Utility Bodies and options under this contract. The Utility Bodies listed in this RFP are some of the more common bodies utilized by the City. The estimated annual replacement spend for Heavy Duty Truck Utility Service Bodies is estimated between $250,000.00 - $300,000.00. These amounts are estimates only and the City reserves the right to increase or decrease amounts as circumstances and budgets allow. The Contractor is also responsible to insure that the finished chassis and body complies with all federal, state and local D.O.T. requirements including GVWR. The Contractor will be responsible for the alignment of the chassis front end to ensure specifications and chassis tracking meet the original specifications of the chassis manufacturer upon completion of the body installation. The Contractor will be responsible for transporting the chassis from the City’s maintenance yard to the vendor’s facility and back to the City’s maintenance yard at no additional cost. The Contractor must have a completed State of Arizona Department of Motor Vehicle level one inspection at time of delivery. The Contractor must have a quality control program that ensures the vehicles are fully operational and ready for service upon delivery.
